"ANOTHER YEAR"
Well here we are again, with a successful 2006 now gone it's time to head into 2007 with all guns blazing. I'm hoping to try and defend my Australian Title a few times this year. March 9 will be my first test for 07 and from what I'm hearing it will be the biggest test to date. I will be defending my title against top prospect Dean Byrne, who is trained by the well respected and most successful trainer in Australia Johnny Lewis. I have not seen any of Dean's fights yet but I do know he's an Irish boxer who now lives in our country and is now an Australian himself, he's only had 4 pro fights so far but has won them all very convincingly, from what I hear has represented his native country Ireland as an amateur and has had some 200 odd amateur fights. He's a very tall light welterweight so with his amateur experience, his height and reach advantage it should be a real good test to see where I'm at and one I'm really looking forward to.
Also we are trying to secure a fight with the good man of boxing Jonny Cotterill, he has other engagements at the moment but we're hoping by May we will be in the ring together.
This years aim is to have around 5 fights and all with the best opponents possible, I want to be in fights I'm not suppose to win and ones that give me a real challenge, I will be putting my belt and underfeated record on the line to make the most attractive fights to the Aussie fight fans.
Once again I am hoping to gain some good sponsors to get behind me in my journey, and along with my great team in my trainers Mark and Gareth, promoter Angelo from Ace Boxing Promotions, my family, friends and supporters I'm hoping we have an even bigger year and can't wait for it to begin, A special thanks to some people who are trying to help me out getting some sponsorship together has to go Greg Wallace, Jo Harden and Blacky. Once my sponsors have been finalized I will post them straight up on here.
I have been in training now for 2 weeks so the body is just being reminded of what it takes to become the best you can. Once again I can promise I'll leave no stone unturned.
Till next time
Stay safe and look forward to a big year.
Chris

"anonymous", you come on here to have a dig at me.(with your comment under the head line
"AND THE NEW"),
i'm not claiming i'm the best or anything like that, i'm just trying to do the best i can but i am trying to make my way to the bigger fights maybe even the ones you suggest.but i won't fall into your trap with your bait, if these fights come about for me, i won't be doing it for your sake my friend, but thank you for your advise. you don't know a thing about me or my team or our plans. see ya mate or i should say "anonymous"
Chris boxing is a cruel game. You need to take calculated risks. take away the Ausrralian Title and the presssure would go. Allan Luxford would come up and also Eddie Delic would come dowm. Both are reputable full fighters. The outcome is not known before the fight. They would be a challenge and you would improve both as a fighter and respectability.Di Carlo needs to increase the stakes and stop the padding and filler. As l stated previously Ganoy would put you up there and so would the African. You are a gentleman and an ambassador to the sport and a role model to boot so l hear. I do respect you and belive me l am not having a dig. From my words you know l know the game very well and i'm closer than you think I'm no fan or boxing groupie. You have skill work rate but lack punching power. But you have a future when you toss the coin everytime you fight from now on.If you are only fed meat you will not improve and will level off. Cab drivers and Asian delights are good in the beginning noy now Cheers
i'm going to take a stab in the dark and name you mark.
mate my last fight i begged for no international fighters, i asked for a top 10 aussie opponent, at the time easier said than done. everyone was either booked injured or said no, i had to take what i could get, i have been matched with at least one of the opponents you mentioned would come up and fight me and i can tell you i never turned the fight down. you have no idea on what opponents i have asked for in my next few fights and if dean byrne hadn't taken this fight maybe you would have been suprised on the next opponent. thanks for you advise and i will be using it, but that was my plan before you even posted on here. take care
Chris l hope you have a productive year. Sometimes it;s good to get a reality check from an ex-pugilist. Yes men and back slappers and people who dont really know the game give you the wrong perspective on your own ability and future in a game wher thr rats get more than the lions.Kirwan and DiCarlo have your interests at heart. They have to keep you winning.Having a promoter is a goal and a half. Stay focused, have clear objectives. You need to fight the best to be the best.Otherwise when you do.It's lambs to the slaughter. The names l mentioned. especially the two imports will separate you from the would be could be's and make you known in the land not just where it is perfect on day and better the next. You started late and you body clock is ticking . Take risks and have a say. If not you'll be in a pub in 5 years time and my words will haunt you. i dont usually jap on the computer but you seem like a good fella. Stop the padding and test your ability Ceers
Sorry forgot my user name "ONCE AGAIN" just reading some of DIGGER'S comments. Digger you say and i quote (From my words you know l know the game very well and i'm closer than you think)Now secondly(You are a gentleman and an ambassador to the sport and a role model to boot so l hear.) They are your words DIGGER not mine. It's very obvious you dont know Chris personally, i SUGGEST you check into how many fighters have knocked back fights against him.And im not saying, those fighters havent had good reasons for not taking the fights, or from pulling out of a fight and as you claim your an ex pugilist "YOU" of all people should know how frustrating that can be.Chris is dead right you know nothing about him,his team or their plans for the future. But thanks for the laugh Digger i loved the bit about (If not you'll be in a pub in 5 years time and my words will haunt you.)LOOK OUT CHRIS,Digger might turn you to the drink.
Good to see you let your rank and file go over my words Good wake up call I obviously achieved my aim.Dont worry I'll remind you if l know you are fighting a stiff like Winter Washington or the last Thai Sorkitti or O"Neill.Time to roll the dice
Anonymous can you not read, McCullen isnt silly enough to take your bait. Take the tickets of yourself old timer you have achieived nothing and im certain Chris is to smart to take any advice from you. The only thing i can see your good at is bagging other fighters
