I've been in this prep for this fight for 9 and a half weeks now, countless rounds of sparring, kilometers and kilometers of road work, bucket loads of sweat and so many painful hours of dedication and determination.
Friday night I did my last hard long run, I was so happy, the following day I did my final sparring session- 8 good sharp rounds with "Bomber" Pedan, I was so happy, Today I had my last massage, I was so happy.
For the last 9 weeks I've put my body through torture so I'm happy to finish and see the last of the things I've done for what feels an eternity, such as the sparring, the gruelling runs ect ect. This week is my taper off week, everything is about freshening up, sharpening up so I peak and I'm ready to do what ever it takes come about 9.30pm march 9. I'm still doing some running, but smaller faster runs, doing my pad work with coach mark, and a lot of work on the floor to ceiling ball, everything is sharp and quality work. All the hard work is done except when it's fight time.
My next aim is 7pm Thursday night, weigh in, I've been lucky enough that my weight is really good, I put in the hard work early, I've done all the sacrificing and so I'm near weight now and really looking forward to getting it out of the way and let the fight begin. I feel ready and can't wait. I hope there is huge support on the night for myself, Bomber and Ace Boxing Promotions who have worked their bum of in getting this show together and I thank Angelo and Brian for the opportunity.
As usual I thank everyone who have supported me, my sponsors, especially my main sponsors who have covered all my living cost to train full time (A E Smith, Liberation Protection and Investigations, Wilson Pacific and Total Contract Services) as well as all my other sponsors and people who have helped me out, ( Madison Sport, Rightcross, Struddys Sport, Brisbane Drum Exchange and Tiling Aspects). I thank all my sparring partners and a huge thank you to Bomber and Kanofski for the countless rounds, both great guys and huge assetts to me and the boxing game. We use to talk on a boxing forum, well I wouldn't call it that, he got his kicks out of giving me stick or teasing me and he was very good at it. We met at a fight night out at Bronco's Leagues Club one night and I knew from that day he was a real good guy.
To Dale's family, I'm feeling for you and can't imagine what your going through.
To my mate "boxa" You may be gone but you won't be forgotten, you showed the fight you have in you for sticking it out for so long, your a real champion, a real fighter.
On March 9 I defend my Australian title, I'm going to steal the strength you had and I'm going to use it to keep hold of my belt, I know you won't mind mate. I guess that little word "sacrifice" comes into play, It's a Saturday night and while most people are out either on the town, with friends, eating and drinking what and as much as they like or just feeling free to do what they like, we boxers lock ourselves away from normality to get ready to do battle. My walk tonight was all about preparing my mind for what's coming March 9, I visualise what I feel is going to happen, I go over my fight plans, I see my opponent everywhere, waiting to enter the ring, in the corner, being introduced, during rounds, standing right in front of me, punches I think are going to work on him, his facial expressions, everything. I've never met him but when I see him at the weigh in on March 8 it'll feel like I've known him for years (but I don't like him and i don't hate him either, I just don't want to be his friend right now).
My training is going the best it ever has, I've had the privilege to do around 70 odd rounds with Robbie "BOMBER" Pedan as he prepares to take on Renae "KO KID" Ganoy. I really can't explain the value I've got from it, and I thank him so much, he's a pleasure to know and a pleasure to call a good friend. Also had lots of quality rounds with my good mate, "The Pride of Ipswich" Jason Kanofski, or others may just know him simply as "THE FREAK", also had some great quality rounds with Brendon Wilson and Graham Foley.
I've mixed my training up as usual, doing some good quality fitness sessions up with Gareth Williams at his new gym in Nathan, and really working hard on my craft and technique down with Mark as well as doing all my sparring there, there's a real good feel down at mark's at the moment, with all us boys working in well together. With all this I will be in tip top shape come March 9. I want to say a huge thank you to all these people for what their doing for me.
We should have some shirts and stubby coolers for sale through which my Aunty Jo and Mum have organised in the next few days, so we should look the part as always on fight night
Till next time, stay safe and be happy
Chris

"SUPPORT"

Once again I have been lucky enough to secure some great sponsorship to allow me to train full time to prepare for my title defence with Dean Byrne on March 9.
My major sponsors are:
Greg Wallace from Liberation Protection & Investigations
Butch Buderis from A.E.SMITH
Wilson Pacific
Total Contract Services

Also as always it's great to have the support and sponsorship from
Madison Sport
Rightcross.
Who provide me with all my boxing equipment and fight gear

Also I really appreciate the support from
Struddy's Sports
Tiling Aspects
Brisbane Drum Exchange
who have all chipped in in their own way to help support me

Without all this support I couldn't do what I'm doing and certainly couldn't get in the shape I need to, so I can't thank all these people enough especially my main sponsors.
I have to say a special thank you to my family, Greg Wallace, big Butch, Scott Wilson, Ace Boxing Promotions, Jo Harden and my Mum who are organising T-shirts and stubbie coolers to sell, Brian Dart, the boys from Madison Sport Nigel Hutton and Paul Dobbins, Matt Turbill from Struddys Sports and as always my trainers Mark and Gareth

"CLICKING"

Hi all,
just an update on how everything is travelling, I feel my training is really clicking together now, certainly putting in the hard yards that are needed to contest a 10 round fight. Doing all my running, weights, gym work, sparring, everything. I just had a tough session on the stairs this morning, so much pain but it's what is needed. I've had some great sparring with my good mate Jason Kanofski who is one fit boy and is playing a huge roll in getting me in shape for this title defence against Dean Byrne. I'm also lucky enough to be getting some awesome sparring in with Robbie Pedan, we've had a few sessions now and so far I've found there's none better to learn from, Bomber has every trick in the book and even the ones that aren't in the book, he has them to.He's super fast and very very strong which is good to keep my mind and eye sharp. New boy on the block Graham Foley has given me some real good solid spars as well, so I feel in good shape.
I've had a look at my opponent and along with Mark and Gareth, we are continually working on what we think we need to do to win, with some great in put from the great Brian Pedan and Robbie himself. I won't go into to much detail on my game plan but can promise I will be putting in everything I have and more. I'm really looking forward to my challenge with Dean.
Thanks to all the help and support from everyone
Chris

"ANOTHER YEAR"

Well here we are again, with a successful 2006 now gone it's time to head into 2007 with all guns blazing. I'm hoping to try and defend my Australian Title a few times this year. March 9 will be my first test for 07 and from what I'm hearing it will be the biggest test to date. I will be defending my title against top prospect Dean Byrne, who is trained by the well respected and most successful trainer in Australia Johnny Lewis. I have not seen any of Dean's fights yet but I do know he's an Irish boxer who now lives in our country and is now an Australian himself, he's only had 4 pro fights so far but has won them all very convincingly, from what I hear has represented his native country Ireland as an amateur and has had some 200 odd amateur fights. He's a very tall light welterweight so with his amateur experience, his height and reach advantage it should be a real good test to see where I'm at and one I'm really looking forward to.
Also we are trying to secure a fight with the good man of boxing Jonny Cotterill, he has other engagements at the moment but we're hoping by May we will be in the ring together.
This years aim is to have around 5 fights and all with the best opponents possible, I want to be in fights I'm not suppose to win and ones that give me a real challenge, I will be putting my belt and underfeated record on the line to make the most attractive fights to the Aussie fight fans.
Once again I am hoping to gain some good sponsors to get behind me in my journey, and along with my great team in my trainers Mark and Gareth, promoter Angelo from Ace Boxing Promotions, my family, friends and supporters I'm hoping we have an even bigger year and can't wait for it to begin, A special thanks to some people who are trying to help me out getting some sponsorship together has to go Greg Wallace, Jo Harden and Blacky. Once my sponsors have been finalized I will post them straight up on here.
I have been in training now for 2 weeks so the body is just being reminded of what it takes to become the best you can. Once again I can promise I'll leave no stone unturned.
Till next time
Stay safe and look forward to a big year.
Chris

"NEAR THE END"

Well we are on the home straight now and I'm really looking forward to the weigh in and then all is left is the fight. I really think I have a very tough fight in sorkitti but a challenge I'm really looking forward to. This week is a taper off week and about making the weight and freshening the body up, so far all is going to plan.
I finished my sparring off on Saturday with my mate Adam Partridge, we did 6 good rounds.
Once again I have been lucky enough to get some great sponsors on board and be part of my boxing journey and with out these great people I wouldn't be doing what I'm doing today.
As I mentioned in my previous post, I have A E Smith, Hawley Constructions and some new sponsors on board are Luke from blitz cleaning services and also my mate Greg Wallace and his team from Liberation Security and Investigation, Rightcross and Nige, Paul and the boys from Madison Sport, I can't thank all these great people enough.
Also as always I have my good friend and my promoter Angelo Di Carlo chasing the best avenues for me and really supporting me in my boxing career. Steve Jans again from Kenmore Centre For Health has had to do a bit more work on me as has my massues Laurelea Moss.
A huge thank you also to my trainers, Mark and Gareth, my family, my Mum and Meggsie for their help with my kids, Huia, Steve Morgan, my club, Brian Kirwan, my sparring partners, all my supporters and boxing supporters in general.
Hope to see you all at the fights, I'll need all the support I can get for this fight.
Take care
Chris

"READY TO GO AGAIN"

Hi all, well here we go again. In 2 weeks time(27th Oct) I'll be back in the ring at the home of boxing, the Mansfield Tavern on my good mate Angelo di Carlo's first Fox televised show.
It's certainly been a real struggle getting everything together for this fight, firstly getting an opponent was so hard and Angelo has worked his butt of trying to secure one for me and along with my trainers (Mark and Gareth) have come up with Kongthawat Sorkitti, a rough and tough Thai with a record of 62 fights, 33 wins (21KO's), 28 losses and 1 draw. He's a seasoned pro who has been in with all the top Aussie fighters, Sorkitti is a former WBF world Champion and will certainly give me a tough fight and one I'm really looking forward to.
Training wise was a real struggle early on in preparation, I just couldn't find the will and reason to find serious pain in training. It was properly now a good thing, even though I was still training hard, in my mind I wasn't dying, but now I feel very fresh and very fit again can now say on a few occasions in the last couple of weeks I thought I was dead because it couldn't be possible to feel so much pain and fatigue. Not having an opponent for so long didn't help. I've had some top line quality sparring, I spent a couple of days up in Toowoomba with Brendan Smith and Mick Katsidis sparring Mick, something that really helped get me on track for my fight. My good mate Mick Shaw really gave me a wake up call in one sparring session last week and I now feel much better for it, he was as sharp as I've ever seen him and once again we are doing a lot of sparring together, look out for him to really bounce back with a vengeance. Also had some good rounds with rising prospect and mate Adam "Adam Bomb" Partridge who was in fine form last Friday night with a demolition of young pro Jason Schubert, Also had some good solid rounds with amateurs Ashley Huston, Graham Foley, and Will Young(remember this kids name, he'll turn up in the pro ranks soon and is trained by the very likeable and good mate of mine Craig "the mongrel Monigle").
Once again I couldn't go ahead with my dream without my sponsors. And for this fight so far We have again the great Butch Buderus from AE Smith, Hawley constructions, my good mate Greg Wallace is trying to pull something together again as well, and as usual I have Madison Sport, Rightcross, and some good help from my massues Laurelea Moss and also Steve Janz again from Kenmore Centre for Health. Hopefully I can get their names out there on Fox and show people that these great people and company's are alive and well in their support of me and boxing.
I'll keep everyone up dated till the fight and I hope to hear from you and see you all at the fight.
Take care, your friend
Chris

Newspaper Article - The Reporter

"Hard Training Earns Chris McCullen an Aussie Title."
The Reporter Newspaper Wednesday 30th August 2006
Article written by Jay Buchan
Posted By Huia. It is my thank you to all the people who made this dream a reality. First of all to my family,I put them through hell and I don't think anyone can really understand the torture I put my family through leading up to this fight. I admit I was a nightmare to live with and I'm sorry and I thank you. Angelo Di Carlo and his family for all their continued hard work they do for me, not only for this fight but from the start of our journey.I was lucky enough to have some great people get behind me finacially, and without this I can honestly say I don't think it would have been possible to now be classed as the Light Welterweight Champion of Australia without this help.
Graham "BUTCH" Buderus from A.E.SMITH
Paul and Diane Lack from NATIONAL STAFFING SERVICES
Jeff Hawley and his family from HAWLEY CONSTRUCTIONS
Kenny and Vicky Hamer from POOL WAREHOUSE
GREG and Narelle Wallace from EXECUTIVE FIGHT CLUB
Greg also organized a lot of other support and did a lot of extra stuff to both help myself and Angelo Di Carlo out, so to Greg and all the guys who chipped in and helped raise my sponsorship an extra thank you.
Finacially these great people allowed me to not have to work so I could soley concentrate on the fight and some part of my belt belongs to them. I am privileged enough to also have some other great sponsors who help out with equipment and clothing.
Nigel,Paul,Steve and the rest of the guys from MADISON SPORT
Gareth Williams from RIGHTCROSS
Huia Hikaiti from WE COACH- (Huia worked on keeping me mentally focused)
I have already mentioned in a previous post the great Steve Janz from KENMORE CENTRE FOR HEALTH for his super work he conducted in getting my hand in working order and to prove what a great person and supporter he is, covered all the cost of my treatment, I have also mentioned my massues Laurelea moss who kept my body in working order and also did some great work on my hand.
My Coaches Mark Wilson and Gareth Williams who work tirelessly on getting me in the right shape to fight and when ever I need anything,it is never a problem to these two guys.
A special mention must go to some great people who have been there and done a lot for me through this whole journey. Steve Morgan, Mark "CHOPPER" Burgess, Dean Kupsch, Mick Shaw, Glenn Azar, Brian Kirwan from Red Corner Promotions, my gym Logan Boxing Team who have been so patient and have stood by me,all my sparring partners, my mum and Meggsie for their help and all my brothers especially Ben, the best cornerman in town (LOL), my friends and supporters who make it so much easier with their great support.
It has been a great journey that I feel we have all done together and I'm proud to class you all as friends. Once again a huge thank you to everyone, it has truly been a pleasure to have you on my team.
"TOGETHER WE ARE ONE"

Your Australian champion
Chris McCullen

Winning is a journey
Not a destination

The Support

Just a quick post. I just want to say thank you to everyone for all your support and well wishes. I have had non stop phone calls and text messages, along with emails, post on here and some other boxing sites. I beat "The Glamour Boy" Brad Hemming on points over 10 gruelling rounds. I felt I never lost a round (official scores- 100-91, 100-92, 100-90). I had a game plan and it worked, I knew to try break him mentally early, frustrate him and if he come with an attack I was to come back harder and faster, I had in my mind before the fight, round 7 I was going to pick the pace up so he would have his mind questioning what do I have to do to stop this guy. Everything went exactly the way I thought. Sometimes it was ugly, sometimes pretty but I knew stay on his chest and he won't like it. I can also now confirm, 4 weeks out from the fight I re-broke my right hand sparring Mick katsidis, Everyone thought I was mad for not postponing the fight but I worked to hard and I just said I'll deal with it, I'll fight one handed if I have to, my doctor said I won't last 2 rounds, I can now say "doc I didn't last 2 rounds, your were right, I lasted 10 and now you are wrong, LOL". I sparred nearly every round after that only using my left hand as it was even to painful just being in the glove. A friend of mine named Steve Janz from Kenmore Centre Of Health worked tirelessly for 3 and a half weeks on it trying to get it right, constant acupuncture, herbal Chinese medicine and what ever else to get it right. It was perfect and I owe Steve , his family and his business everything for getting me right. Also my massues Laurelea Moss also did some work on it as well and she did a great job in keeping my body in working order. I will post a separate post to thank everyone as I have so many people to thank.
Till then take care
Chris mcCullen
Australian Light Welterweight Champion

"THE TIME HAS COME'

Well it's here, last night I weighed in, I weighed 63.30kg and I think my opponent weighed in around the same 63.40kg. I then went to dinner with the rest of my team, I had a spaghetti dish along with plenty of fluid. I felt that was the best I've made the weight although it's never easy or fun but I think all the hard training helped and hopefully in a few hours time it all pays of for me. This morning I went to the coffee club for breakfast with a group of my close friends, I had the usual fight day meal, pancakes and a skinny cap in a mug. Right now I'm quite anxious and a little nervous, I can't sleep and I can't sit still. It's the worst feeling to have but I know I need this feeling and I'll perform to the best of my ability. The support I have received today is amazing, I've had so many phone calls and messages it's not funny, and I can't explain enough how much it means to me. Well everyone what I have worked so hard for is here and it's time to put all the time and effort to plan, so I'll post in the next few days as of the result. I want to thank everyone for everything you have all did for me
We are one and we'll win as one
Chris

"CLOSER"

It's now down to the week I taper off, I had my last spar, all my hard running is complete, this week is all about sharpening up, fast punching, short fast running, ect ect. I would like to wish Jeremy all the best in his quest for the Qld Welterweight Title and I'm sure he'll give it everything he's got. It is then my mind will really kick into fight mode, not that it isn't in there now, just everything else is over except for the fight (all the training, the weigh in, ect), so the only thing left is the fight. My training is going awesome, I've had plenty of sparring over the past 6 or 7 weeks or so and have been training now for 9 weeks. I've done many rounds with Mick Shaw,Mick Katsidis,Jason Kanofski,Adam Partridge,Ashley Huston,Graham Foley and Jeremy Condron. I will finish my sparring this Saturday with Jeremy and then taper off for the next week. I did my last real hard run today and again will just work down to short sharp runs over the next week. I'm really happy with my training and must thank everyone involved from Mark and Gareth to all my sparring partners, all the great people around me, the people who have been part of my preparation and helped get me in the shape I'm in or have helped keeping my body in working order, and off course my sponsors. My weight is good and on target and actually I've have just finished my dinner which was a large bowl of steamed vege's and a protein drink and just having a cup of tea as I post this update.
I will keep you update and let you all know how my last spar goes.
Till then take care
Chris

Time Will Tell

Well we're just on 2 weeks out from the fight, and in all honesty it can't come quick enough for me. As each day goes by my confidence gets better and better. I can say I have never pushed my body to the limits I have for this fight and I have now become unbeatable in my mind. I have been very lucky, I have so many good people supporting me and that has allowed me to train full time, and I'm sure that's the reason I have pushed my body to knew limits. I know "THE GLAMOUR BOY" (Brad Hemming)will be training the house down, I know Les (his trainer) will be into his ear telling him he will win this fight and Les will have Brad very fit and ready so this should make for one hell of a fight. Yesterday was a hard run and stairs session that literally busted me to pieces, I said to myself "If I can't win this fight, it is not through my training or efforts, there is know way I can loose, I've trained to hard". At the moment I'm just mixing my hard sessions with good refreshing sessions to make sure I peak come August 25, I am already fit enough for the fight now. When I say hard, I mean hard, a pain barrier that I never thought I'd reach or even break, but I have on so many occasions for this fight.
Till next time take care and live safe.
Chris
"TIME WILL TELL"

Sparring

Yesterday (Saturday 5-8-06), we had a big sparring day organised by one of my sponsors Greg Wallace at his Executive Fight Club gym out at Brookfield. There were plenty of people on hand watching, a lot of the people Greg has organised to finacially support me and I thank Greg and all the guys for there help. I did 8 good solid rounds with Mick Shaw, my fitness is feeling very good, I did the rounds very comfortable as did Mick (a special thanks to Steve Janz from Kenmore Centre For Health for his help.)
Greg put on a great arvo with drinks and BBQ and some good sparring sessions, top amateurs Jimmy Whitbourne,Daniel Russell,Daniel Crawford as well as pro's Tyrone Tongia, Jai Russell and Jason Larson were all on hand sparring.
Today is my rest day, and what I call chocolate Sunday, I allow myself to have some sought of junk, maybe a small chocolate or custard or something on them lines, so it is my favorite day of the week.
Well once again to Greg and his wife Narelle thank you so much for having us yesterday and to everyone who's helping me out finacially through Greg's hard work,or just supporting me, thank you all so much, till then hope everyone is happy and safe
Take care
Chris

Training

Hello all,
Well training is all going well, feeling very fit at the moment. Last Sunday I went up to Toowoomba and did 8 rounds with mick Shaw, It was a good work out and a pleasant drive for Mark and myself. I did 8 rounds yesterday with young amateur Ashley Huston who I train(he just got a silver medal in the 60kg junior division at the Aussie Titles). Sometimes I think to myself why would anyone put themselves through all this pain and hard work, then I think for a minute and go "oh yea now I know", the answer is to "WIN", and I know I definitely haven't shirked the hard work. Yesterday I also did a run and stairs at Tanah Merah (a suburb in the Logan area), man these things are tough, Kangaroo Point has nothing on these stairs, this is one place in my head I must break the pain barrier. "It's pain".
My time with Huia from WE Coach ( Huia is helping with the mental side of my fight) is going awesome, she gives me such a positive mind and her help in such a big fight is something I recommend for others. I know I have good mental strenth but this just adds to that and is making my mind even stronger.
Another former sponsor of mine Hawley Constructions have climbed back on board to help me out. Long time friend Jeff and the Hawley family were my sponsor back in my third fight against Jay Washington at the Mansfield Tavern, so it is good to have them back on board helping out in the big one. All this support is so overwhelming, something I can't describe how much I appreciate.
This Saturday I have a big sparring session with my good mate Mick Shaw out at my Sponsors gym (Greg Wallace from Executive Fight Club). Greg has organized a big day that I'm really looking forward to, It'll be good to catch up with everyone out there that Greg has got supporting and backing me.
Till next time, I'll be training hard
Take Care
Chris

spar with rocky

Earlier today I sparred 6 good solid rounds with Mick "Rocky" Katsidis. It was a great work out. This is the best sparring you can ask for, Mick is number one in the world and awaiting a world title fight, so if you make a mistake he will make you pay and that he did on a couple of occasions, but I felt it was a good hit out for both of us and very solid at times. I felt in good shape and could have did another 2 more rounds. Mick is a good guy, I have a lot of respect for him as a fighter and a person and I hope all of Australia get behind him when his chance comes to fight for a world title, and we don't see to much of the old Aussie tall poppy syndrome. Kenny Hamer, my sponsor from Pool Warehouse and Ace Boxing Promotions Angelo and Nathan Di Carlo were on hand watching the sparring session. Also new professional sensation Tyrone Tongia came out for a look along with my trainer Mark Wilson. A huge thanks to Mick and his trainer Brendan Smith for coming down.

Training update

Hello everyone, I arrived home from Darwin at 6.45pm on Monday night and 15 minutes later I was in the gym training. I trained hard when I was away, I was lucky as I had my trainer Mark Wilson in Darwin as well, so we done some good sessions together. It was also good catching up with one of my sponsors (Greg Wallace from executive Fight club) and Ace Boxing Promotions Angelo Di Carlo who were up there to support boxing. When we first arrived it was around 1am, we finally got in our rooms and to bed around 3am, I was then up at 5.30am doing my road work. I think some of the amateur boxers thought I was crazy and I probley am (LOL) but I new I had to do it. Then on our final night there I think I was the only person not to go out as I new I had to do my road work early in the morning so I had to get my rest. I woke up at 5am to do it, and as I was leaving most of the boxers from most states were just coming home. One of them (Paul Fleming) said "you've got to be mad Chris", I just said to him "no mate I have a job to do and nothing will stop me from doing what I have to do".
Anyway my training is going well, today I was doing a run and stairs at Kangaroo point, tomorrow I spar Mick "rocky" Katsidis, I'll keep you all updated how that goes. Once again to everyone, thank you so much for your support and great comments you send to me, I really appreciate it
take care
Chris

Training

Hi all, training is going great, feeling very good. Yesterday I had two good hard sessions, one being a 9km run through Daisy Hill Forest, I call this run the death run because seriously that's what it feels like. I then had a good solid session in one of my trainers, Gareth Williams fitness class. It is a good refreshing training class that pushes your fitness limits. Today I had a weights session then at 2 pm done a boxing session down at my trainer mark Wilson gym in Bethania, consisting of shadow boxing, floor to ceiling ball work, bag work, pad work and some ab work.
Tonight I fly out to Darwin for a week with the Queensland amateur boxing team for the national titles. I have 8 boxers from my club participating in the titles after winning their state championship division. I will have around 2-3 days break as a refresher and train twice a day for the remaining days. So I will post on my return.
till then take care
Chris

Sparring

Today at lunch time out at one of my sponsors and good friends gym (Greg Wallace from executive fight club), I sparred with Australian champion Mick Shaw and champion amateur boxer Brendan Wilson. We all done 8 rounds each. We all had some tough hard rounds and some more thinking easier rounds. A few of the grogan squad (Greg,Steve and Wayne) were out there to watch and I'm sure they would have cringed with some of the shots landed. It was good to get the 8 rounds out and again it's great to get in and work with such good boxers in Mick and Brendan, if I make a mistake, they make me pay. A huge thanks to Greg for letting us use the gym and Steve and Wayne for coming along. Also Mick and Glenn Azar for traveling down.
Chris

Sponsors of Chris McCullen

It's a lonely sport

It's now just past 5.30am on Thursday morning, I was up early doing my roadwork today (8km at 4.15am). Some would call this crazy or ludicrous and yea so do I, this is not the time I do this everyday but yea usually early. I just thought I'd put something on here for my team to feel. All boxers will know what I'm saying or what I'm feeling. It's was so lonely and eerie out there this morning, no cars on the street, no birds making any noises,no school kids screaming, not even a single sole doing their morning walk. The only sounds I could hear were my feet pounding the road, my breathing felt so heavy but it was just so quiet it made my breathing sound so loud, all of a sudden a car drives past or a delivery driver delivering what ever it is he's delivering, but that was pretty rare. I was sprinting hills at 4.30 in the morning. This is painfull but this is what makes me become unbeatable in my mind come fight time. The only thing I could do was think and when I'm running most cases this is where my fight plan is worked out, so much time alone. It's such a lonely sport.
Chris

My team

Today I received another sponsor to help me chase my dream.
